THE end of a year approaches – and so, too, the end of an era as this final edition of the Herald publishes.
For the whole of the 20 years of my involvement with the politics of north west Surrey, the Herald has been part of the furniture – a reliable weekly fixture in an otherwise shifting firmament.
And its importance has been the sense of continuity it has brought, not just when reporting the news but, through its extensive archive, setting it in context; painting a picture of how our local communities have evolved
