CLEAN AND GREEN
Subtle design tricks are used throughout the house to connect the interior with its natural surroundings. The floorboards are richly grained solid oak – a detail that Helle insisted upon – and flow throughout to elevate the plain white walls. In the upstairs dining room, a floor-to-ceiling corner window frames breathtaking views of the nearby fjord. Sunlight floods the space, creating a sense of serenity. Another corner window frames a snapshot of treetops, captured like living works of art. Elsewhere, houseplants arranged in rustic pots mingle with treasures from Helle and Ole’s travels, as well as natural finds that they have collected on countryside walks.
