WILD DINING IN THE FOREST, SCOTTISH BORDERS
Book now for an end-of-summer pop-up dinner in the forests of East Lothian, hosted by Amanda Farnese Heath, aka the Mad March Hare – a photographer and cook who grew up in an Italian household before moving to the North Berwick coast. The evening of 28 October will include an enlightening lecture on mushrooms by forager Monica Wilde (accompanied by a single-malt sharpener), then a trip to the magically decorated copse (right) for a candlelit seven-course dinner cooked over fire. Guests can stay in nearby treehouses. Dinner, £125; treehouse stays, £50 per person (themadmarchhare.com).
