Italians do cars in style, so our inaugural road trip is the iconic Amalfi Coast, driven in the car of lottery fantasies: a Maserati GranCabrio Sport. Based on the 1950 A6G Frua Spyder, it looks both retro and modern, with the bonnet and grille inspired by the shape of a shark’s nose. Ours was in beautiful Blu Assoluto (midnight blue), with cream, double-stitched Poltrona Frau leather seats. Maseratis know how to hug a curve, something you’ll be grateful for as you weave around the serpentine coastline, pressing the ‘sport’ button to amplify the sexy vvv-rrroom as you accelerate. Driving doesn’t get more thrilling than this.
