Vehicles and drivers are gaining a new level of safety from ADAS. Safety systems were once only backup cameras and parking assistance. Now, they are being fused with other subsystems and integrated with new technology to provide life-saving features like emergency braking. In the years or months to come, autonomous vehicles will change the way we view transportation and even live our lives. NI is working with experts like Bosch to make this vision of the near and distant future a reality.

Technologies like radar, cameras, and RF communications will work together to give a vehicle a more complete view of the world around it. As these technologies and systems are used in more safety-critical applications, the testing to ensure they function properly needs to be more rigorous while adapting to rapid innovation. Additionally, to ensure that autonomous vehicles are safer than human drivers, they will need extensive testing to both help with the design of vehicle components and validate that the hardware and software perform correctly.

NI is a proud preferred supplier of Bosch for modular instrumentation in production and validation testing. Companies around the world like Bosch, continue to rely on NI products and services to build sophisticated automated test and measurement systems as well as allow for easier integration and more accurate test data, which has already resulted in reduced time to market for Bosch.

NI offers a single, software-centric, platformbased approach to automotive tests that can natively integrate all the I/O types needed to test today’s and tomorrow’s ADAS technology. The same platform can then be used in all aspects of system design from characterisation through verification and validation and even onto the production floor.

NI’s platform-based approach combines best-in-class hardware with software tools designed to increase test coverage while reducing the cost of test. With this native support for the wide breadth of I/O in vehicles and decades of investment in timing and synchronisation, NI helps any automotive manufacturer better test the sensor fusion techniques used in vehicles today. And because NI’s tools are modular and flexible, you can future-proof your test systems and adapt to new technology as it makes its way into the vehicles of today and tomorrow.

Using NI’s flexible platform-based approach means Bosch can own the test system IP and make changes quickly rather than solely relying on a third-party vendor. This flexible platform-based approach enables companies like Bosch to take a comprehensive systems approach to design, test, and give the world a new generation of electric vehicles in addition to vehicle autonomy.

Work with NI to overcome the pressure of these rapidly changing test requirements using an open and easily upgradable platform that offers the test system flexibility you need to test the vehicles of tomorrow today.
