ESQUIRE: Best style advice you’ve ever been given?

COOKE: My friend Andrew Weitz [Hollywood stylist] says: “Style represents who you are when you walk into a room. It’s your personal brand.” That seems to make sense to me. People are given an immediate impression of you based on how you present yourself and I guess it’s interesting to think you can play with that idea.

A style mistake you hate to see?

Ill-fitting clothes. I guess people can wear anything as long as it’s worn well.

Your favourite item of clothing?

I have several pairs of Tod’s Chelsea boots. They’re really comfortable and they look just as good all battered up as they do brand new.

The best piece of clothing you’ve ever been given?

A gold razor blade on a silver chain from Steph Metal. It’s bang on!
