Macchiato Man
Though UK winter temperatures rarely drop below 5ºC, you can be sure that from the start of September till the end of March, Macchiato Man will sport his uniform of wet-look puffer jacket, ultra-slim jeans, hefty walking boots and oversized sunglasses day in, day out (though he’ll swap the puffer for a padded gilet beneath his Neapolitan suit on smarter days). Highly practical (permanentfixture shades notwithstanding), Macchiato Man also has a thing for futuristic-looking luxe trainers from Hogan, Tod’s and Prada; and appears about as ready for an afternoon of heli-skiing as he does for a Saturday stroll to Partridges on the Kings Road (nothing like some overpriced tartufo secco to really get the weekend going). Conveniently, Macchiato Man’s young wife and children dress exactly the same way he does, so winter shopping trips are done and dusted before you can say “pasta pomodoro”.
