Make happy hour last all day
Elegant timepieces handmade in fine metals
are eternal Esquire favourites, but sometimes you need something inexpensive, irreverent and easy to wear around town. It’s a point borne out by some of the most fastidious men we know: designer Patrick Grant collects plastic Swatches for that very reason; while cultural commentator Peter York, one of the pickiest men in London, wears a £50 Timex day in, day out. (He also prefers a plastic carrier bag to a briefcase, but that’s a whole other story.) Fortunately,
an armful of brands make these kinds of undemanding watches very well indeed, and
they’ve never looked more appealing.
