V-necks are acceptable once more, says Esquire style-spert Jeremy Langmead

“If you are a classic dresser but want to look as if you’re subtly on-trend, it’s going to be easy this year: the V-neck is once again in fashion. After a few years in the wilderness, with crew-necks getting all the attention, the V-neck can be worn in different ways if you look to Tom Ford and Berluti for inspiration. Ford controversially suggests you wear a V-neck sweater over a V-neck T-shirt (the sweater’s V being just a tad lower than the white T-shirt’s); while Berluti offered high V-neck T-shirts, and low-slung V-neck sweaters. Whichever you choose, it’s all about the V-sign… and no-one can take offence.”
