ESSEX LIFE FOOD AND DRINK HERO WHAT THE WINNER SAID: WHAT THE JUDGE SAID:

Essex Life - - Food & Drink -

Judge: Mike Porter

Sponsor: Wilks and Co Winner: Paul Kelly of Kelly’s Turkeys I really didn’t expect to win this. I’m really shocked to be honest. It is absolutely brilliant to win such a prestigious award. Any award is amazing, but this is something else. I am not a hero, I just love what I do, born in Maldon and lived in Essex through on through. I am passionate about my job and it is such a lovely recognition to receive. Thank you. This year’s winner of the Essex Life Food and Drink Hero award needs little in the way of introduction. Many of the family are involved in this business, from production, logistics, procurements, marketing and presentations. From a young age, being brought up in such a grounded and engaging farming family, interest in the business grew. This enterprise now boasts tremendous diversity, depth and ingenuity, taking control of all aspects of the production chain – a goal many businesses endeavour to achieve but few succeed.

There are many within the county that benefit from being involved in this strong Essex business and the momentum has now spread internationally. He has become a household name in Essex and carries enormous respect from fellow colleagues in the industry, flying the flag at full mast on all occasions. His name is Paul Kelly of Kelly’s Turkeys.
