It’s been a busy month for the Essex Life team. Firstly, on September 20, Essex Life joined forces with Channels Estate near Chelmsford for its first ever Autumn Splendour supper and fashion show. The fashion show featured a catwalk presentation of both male and female models showcasing some of the very best local fashions from the Essex high street, including presentations from Freeport Braintree, Ernest Doe, Slaters Menswear in Chelmsford and Dress Code Nine in Kelvedon.
The event also helped to raise funds for Kids Inspire on the evening, a charity which supports children across the county recovering from traumatic experiences or dealing with emerging mental health issues. You can get a flavour of this fabulous event on page 98.
On the subject of flavour, a week later the team were at Down Hall Country House for the ninth Essex Life Food & Drink Awards. The awards are firmly established as the most prestigious and coveted food and drink awards within the county.
Crucially, entrants are nominated by the readers of Essex Life magazine, so the awards recognise what customers think – something that is vital for any successful business. All of these nominations are scrutinised by a panel of expert judges before two judges for each category then research and experience first-hand each short-listed entrant. From this process, each category’s set of three finalists is decided and ultimately, the winner.
Close to 200 guests were there as these winners were announced at a glittering awards ceremony at Down Hall, something that wouldn’t have been possible without the vital support of headline sponsor, Wilkin & Sons, as well as our sponsors for each of the 11 categories. It proved to be another fantastic evening with a stunning menu and you can find out all the winners from page 152.
