Wowed by countryside location
Spacious home with fantastic features
FROM its elevated position, John Nicoll’s home in Newmachar has a lovely view of the countryside. And it was the location that really attracted John and his wife Dorothy, both 52, to the spacious, four-bedroom property. John, a chartered mechanical engineer for Oceaneering, said: “Dorothy and I both wanted a property with a countryside location. “We moved in three years ago, and what struck us both the most was just how spacious all the bedrooms were, plus the wonderful rear garden.” Dorothy, who works as a senior carer for Aberdeen City Council, and John’s rear garden is a real gem. It’s kitted out with everything a family could possibly to enjoy – including a hot tub. John’s children from a previous relationship have spent many a happy time playing in the garden. Inside, a large picture window in the lounge allows plenty of light to flood through. Dual-aspect windows in the large dining kitchen also add to the light and airy feel of the property. A rear extension houses the fourth double bedroom with en-suite shower room, and the other three double bedrooms are upstairs. A bathroom on the ground floor completes the lay-out. “We’ve enjoyed living here, and shall be downsizing,” John said. “But we hope to remain in Newmachar.”
