This house is a great place to entertain
Garden area linked to sound system
SUZY and Kevin Gilbert saw great potential – for a wonderful house and entertaining space – when they first visited their lovely home. And the pair lost no time in turning the basement into an entertainment area, while the garden has its own sound system. Suzy, 43, a day care officer at the Rosehill Centre, said they started looking for a new place shortly after marrying 13 years ago. She said: “We were on our way to look at properties in Grandholm when I saw the For Sale sign outside 43 Donbank Terrace.” With her property register in the car, Suzy was able to do a quick check and she and Kevin wasted no time in knocking on the door. “The couple who lived there were happy to allow us in to view the property. “We shook hands that day with them, and couldn’t wait to move in so we could put our own personal stamp on it.” First priority for Suzy and Kevin, 39, was to make use of the space on offer in the basement. “Kevin wanted to have an entertainment area, so we had the builders dig out 18 inches of rubble to get the ceiling to full height. ” The property, which would be perfect for a family, now boasts three levels and has a lounge, dining kitchen, entertainment/ family room, shower room, two double bedrooms, and family bathroom. Suzy will miss her rear garden, with its decked area and music system. She said: “People are always amused when they step into our garden and hear the music blast out of two rocks!”
MOVING ON: Suzy Gilbert and, right, the smart kitchen with space for dining.
