THE McDougall family will never forget their years at Fare Park Drive, Westhill. It’s where daughter Isla spent her early years while son Peter has enjoyed being a teenager there. And for parents Scott and Shona, transforming the property has been a happy labour of love. Scott, who runs insurance agency NFU Mutual, said: “We have had a lot of happy times in this house. When we moved here our daughter was just six months old and our son was 12. “It’s where they’ve grown up and Westhill has been a fantastic family-centred community for us all. “There are good schools here and it’s far enough out of the city to be quiet, without being so far away that you have to travel far to get into town.” Scott, 43, and 36-year-old Shona, who works for the Bank of Scotland, have carried out a lot of work on the three-bedroom house in their six years there. They’ve updated the kitchen with a modern look including new laminate flooring, fitted a new suite into the huge family bathroom and built a large decking area outside. Scott said: “I’m a big football fan and enjoy going to Pittodrie and Old Trafford whenever I can, but when I’m home nothing beats pottering about in the garden on a sunny day. “It’s a good house for spending time with the children. We sit down to eat together every night at the dining table in our kitchen, while we save the dining room for special occasions. “We imagine another family will also enjoy this house, as well as the community.” Scott and Shona, with son Peter, now 18, and sixyear-old Isla, won’t be moving far either. They’re off to another property in Westhill.
