Home ticked all the right boxes for teacher and family
MARK and Amy Dunnett have spent a very happy seven years in family-friendly Blackburn. When the professional couple, who both come from Aberdeen, decided to tie the knot in 2005, Blackburn ticked all the right boxes for them. Mark, 38, a ROV supervisor for Subsea 7, said: “Amy works as a teacher and at the time she was working at various schools in the shire. “I was offshore, so Blackburn was perfectly located for the airport.” Mark and Amy, 32, moved from their two-bedroom flat in the city centre to
detached home in 2004. “It was brilliant moving into a brand new home,” said Mark. “Other than repainting and having our rear garden terraced we haven’t had to lift a finger.” And since moving in, their family has grown with the birth of daughter Zoe, who is now three years old, and son, Adam who is 19 months. The accommodation at their detached family home includes a cloakroom, lounge/dining room, dining kitchen, utility room, four bedrooms and a large bathroom. With the exception of a splash of colour in the children’s bedrooms, the couple have kept the decor of their lovely home neutral. The property is located in a quiet cul-de-sac and the fully-enclosed garden is a gardener’s delight – with plenty of space for al fresco dining. With Amy taking up a new teaching post in Aberdeen, the Dunnetts are on the move. “This house has been a brilliant home,” said Mark.
