Ben Affleck, Tommy Lee Jones, Chris Cooper, Kevin Costner, Maria Bello, Rosemarie DeWitt, Craig T Nelson.

THE Company Men, focuses on the well-paid workers in corporate America labouring under the illusion they will be immune from downsizing. But no one is safe and in one of the film’s striking images the camera looks down as dozens of men and women in suits trudge to their cars, carrying boxes filled with their desks’ contents. The Company Men is a timely portrait of a world waking up and smelling the coffee of the global recession. Ben Affleck delivers a compelling performance as the bread winner, who shudders at the dinner table when his daughter says grace: “Please help my dad find a job so he won’t be unhappy.” Lee Jones and Cooper are solid in support while female characters are largely twodimensional, providing a voice of reason. FAMILY WATCH: Swearing, No Sex,No Violence.
