Nightwalker set to stroll into stardom

Evening Express (City Final) - The Guide - - MUSIC SCENE -

ONE of Soma’s up-and-coming stars will stop off for a set in Snafu this weekend. Harvey McKay has been garnering something of a following over the past year – and is hotly-tipped for stardom by the Glasgow label. Most recently his Nightwalker single won him praise from all corners, notably from influential techno DJ Richie Hawtin. And his remix of Drum Code’s 8 Sided Dice, along with the massive track Chronozon in 2010, have marked him out as one to watch in the future. Harvey McKay is one of a new school of artists to come out of Glasgow’s thriving underground club scene. Since signing to Soma, his career has gone from strength to strength, gaining support from major artists like Stephan Bozin, Laurent Garnier, Richie Hawtin, Michael Mayer, Luke Slater, Slam, and Green Velvet. He’s performed all over the world including the Decibel Festival in Seattle and the Nuit Blanche Festival in Brussels. Don’t miss his set at Snafu’s Mothership, with support from Adam Ackers from 11pm on Saturday.
