DJ heroes step up for a real global gathering

Evening Express (City Final) - The Guide - - MUSIC SCENE -

IT’S an international affair at Origin tomorrow with a showcase of talent from around the world. And with guests selected to represent the best of Goa, Chile, Germany and Scotland, it’s set to be another cracking night from the DO IT! collective. Chile-born Flako has been making a name for himself since first appearing on Beatnicks Vol.2 with his banging track Inside. But it was his Vortex Cookies remix in 2008 that secured his fate as one of Europe’s top beat producers. Renowned for his legendary live shows, he’s won over the crowds in Amsterdam, Vienna and London before this, his first Scottish show. Auntie Flo comes from Goa (by way of Glasgow) and plays old-school tribal house and stripped-down funk. Also known as Brian D’Souza, he has been winning high praise from the likes of Villalobos, Jackmaster, Sinden, Caribou, Joy Orbison and Egyptrixx. Resident DJs Uraki Riddim, Kid Bell and White Chocolate will be on hand to support, with live visuals by Illustration and Coffee from 11pm.
