Ramadanman to help Hush Hush celebrate
IT’S time to celebrate over at Origin on Saturday as Hush Hush marks its third birthday. And flying in especially for the bash is one of the most talked-about DJs on the scene right now. Ramadanman co-runs the Hessle Audio label with Ben UFO and Pangaea and has been working as a producer for years. He’s travelled all around the world and has put out music by names including James Blake, Elgato and Joe. Real name David Kennedy, Ramadanman is known for starting with a dubstep sound, and twisting it into something very different. His sound is a personal, highly percussive take on dubstep-garage and it has made him into one of the foremost figures on the scene over the past year or so. He occasionally performs under the name Pearson Sounds and his label holds a well-respected night at London club Fabric while he holds another vinylonly night in Leeds. With influences ranging from old house to Chicago juke music, this is sure to be an interesting night. On warm-up duties as usual are Djamba and Giles Walker, from 11pm.
