Mu­si­cal has edge on other shows

THE re­born Harlequin Pro­duc­tions is fast ac­quir­ing a rep­u­ta­tion for bring­ing cut­ting edge work to Aberdeen. So it’s lit­tle sur­prise its lat­est of­fer­ing is the mu­si­cal Edges – and it’s de­scribed as be­ing far from a tra­di­tional mu­si­cal. Di­rec­tor Stu­art Mearns said: “It’s classed as a song cy­cle ... there’s no di­a­logue or script as such. “It tells the story of six young peo­ple com­ing of age, out of univer­sity and into the world. “Each num­ber is ba­si­cally a mono­logue put to song and you get tri­als and tribu­la­tions. “There’s a jour­ney through a life of bro­ken re­la­tion­ships and los­ing par­ents.” But while Edges – which runs at Aberdeen Arts Cen­tre tonight and
