She said: “It brings it all back see­ing the nurses and doc­tors again.

“I was on the ma­chine for just over a month af­ter hav­ing been ill for a while, and no­body knew what was wrong.

“I got worse and worse un­til the doc­tor sug­gested that the only thing left to do was to try the ECMO ma­chine, un­til they could fig­ure out a di­ag­no­sis. Af­ter three weeks on the ma­chine, they fi­nally di­ag­nosed me with a form of vas­culi­tis and could treat it prop­erly – the dif­fer­ence was night and day, I was back.

“These doc­tors are in­cred­i­ble.”
