Healthcare teams from region in running for accolades at national awards
AN INDIVIDUAL and three healthcare teams from the North-east have been selected as finalists at the Scottish Health Awards 2017. The Choose Life North East Scotland team is shortlisted for both the Care for Mental Health Award and the Innovation Award. The partnership is between Aberdeenshire Council, Aberdeen City Council, NHS Grampian, Police Scotland, the Samaritans and other organisations.
It has been widely praised for a strong digital media campaign and a mobile app that was created in an attempt to reduce the number of suicides in the area.
Staff members at NHS Grampian also formed part of the Attend Anywhere Project team, which developed the concept of video consulting services for patients across Scotland, and has been shortlisted for the Innovation Award.
In addition, Kyle Gauld, an electrical craftsman at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary has been named as a finalist for the Young Achiever Award, while the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary ECMO Team is in the running for the Top Team Award.
