AN ABERDEEN-BORN actor is set to play a lead role in a Christmas show this year.

Christie Mitchell will star as one of two sisters in Flutter, which will be performed at the Lemon Tree this December.

The Aberdeen Performing Arts’ (APA) production company Freshly Squeezed Productions is working with Tortoise in a Nutshell to present the seasonal offering.

Arran Howie, co-company manager for Tortoise in a Nutshell, said: “We are really looking forward to working with Christie. “She has a great energy and enthusiasm within her work and doesn’t shy away from challenges and our very different style of working. “It was extremely important for us to work with individuals who have strong connections to Aberdeen and the local area and we can’t wait for the production to open in December.”

Lesley Anne Rose, pictured, head of artistic development at APA, said: “The audience will be transported to a magical world filled with snow drifts, winding paths and twinkling stars.” For more information visit www. aberdeenperformin
