Appalled at allegations about Weinstein

Evening Express (City Final) - - UK & Abroad -

IN RECENT years watching the Oscars and Baftas, I’ve been in awe of producer Harvey Weinstein always hitting the nail on the head for financing what turns out to be a blockbuster of a picture. The Gangs Of New York, Shakespeare In Love, The King’s Speech, as a Miramax founder – Pulp Fiction. But how are the mighty fallen. This Hollywood mogul has now been accused of being a sexual predator, victimising young starlets. How ironic. It’s like a scene out of those black-and-white films about the casting-couch, celluloid jungle in the 40s and 50s. How appalling to discover such powerful men believe they are also all-powerful over women. And how deeply ominous that most of the women had kept silent.
