Free film show­ing at univer­sity in or­der to dis­cuss men­tal health

ACA­DEMICS are set to screen a film as part of an event to raise aware­ness of men­tal health is­sues.

Robert Gor­don Univer­sity men­tal health nurs­ing lec­tur­ers Dan War­ren­der and Scott Macpher­son are to host the lat­est Men­tal Health Movie Monthly.

The free film screen­ing, which is open to all, is used to pro­mote em­pa­thy and un­der­stand­ing around the is­sue of men­tal health.

The lec­tur­ers are set to screen the pop­u­lar film Star Wars: The Force Awak­ens. Dan said: “Our next free show­ing will be Star Wars in room N242 of the Sir Ian Wood Build­ing at RGU at the Garthdee cam­pus.

“As ever staff, stu­dents and the gen­eral pub­lic are wel­come. “Re­fresh­ments will be free of charge and avail­able through­out and a fa­cil­i­tated dis­cus­sion around men­tal health will fol­low.”

The screen­ing will take place on Mon­day, De­cem­ber 11 from 5pm un­til 8.30pm.
