AN ANIMAL welfare charity is encouraging the public to come along to meet the Staffies in its care.

The Scottish SPCA is celebrating its annual Staffie Awareness Week until Sunday, and wants dog lovers to visit the Drumoak centre to meet the staffies in the charity’s care. Aberdeenshire Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre manager Graeme Innes said: “Last year we rehomed more staffies than any other breed but we’re always looking to do more to raise awareness of the breed.

“A few of our staffies will have bandanas on during the week and we’re encouraging anyone with any questions about rehoming to have a chat with a member of staff about how staffies make wonderful pets.”

Bronson the staffie came into the charity’s care after being found living in unsuitable conditions and was rehomed with Tracy Needham.

Tracy said: “Bronson is my whole world and he makes me laugh and smile every day. He has been trusting and incredibly loyal since the day I took him home.”
