Energy service firm buys bust supplier
A NORTH-EAST energy service firm made a “substantial bid” to buy up an industrial equipment supplier which had gone into administration.
JBS Group in Peterhead bought the assets, stock and IT from the defunct Aberdeen company Screw Conveyor. JBS also said it had taken on four of the firm’s former employees, taking its head count to around 60.
The High Court in London put Screw Conveyor into administration at the end of September. JBS chairman Stanley Green said: “Buying Screw Conveyor was the natural thing to do and we are pleased with it so far.
“We are still preserving jobs for people and will add more in Peterhead.”
