EU talks team resorting to blackmail over bill for UK leaving sinking ship

Evening Express (City Final) - - Views - Dennis GRATTAN

THERE is no set procedure laid down for the United Kingdom in leaving the European Union as it has never happened before and we are in uncharted waters.

However, what we are getting from the EU negotiating team is nothing short of Brussels blackmail in my opinion.

They are just plucking figures from the sky as to how much the UK will have to pay to leave the EU. This seems to be anything from 20 billion Euros upwards and unless we agree to pay, the negotiations go no further.

It seems to me this form of blackmail is being used as a warning to other countries also thinking of leaving the Euastowhattreatmenttoexpect when leaving the sinking ship.

Seems it’s being used as a warning to other countries

BREXIT: The UK and EU are in negotiations.
