Raiders steal cash after breaking into bus depot

Evening Express (City Final) - - News -

THIEVES raided a North-east bus depot and stole cash.

The intruders broke into the Stagecoach facility on the Balmoor Industrial Estate in Peterhead at around 1.50am yesterday and fled with the money.

Police said they have not yet been able to establish how much was taken, and officers want anyone with information to contact them.

Detective Sergeant George Nixon said: “Were you out driving that night and have dash-cam footage of the surrounding area?

“Have you noticed any unusual vehicles or people in the vicinity in the days or hours leading up to the incident?

“I would encourage anyone with information to please get in touch as soon as possible.” He added: “Inquiries are still ongoing to establish just how much has been taken. “Aside from this, the break-in has caused disruption to a vital local service and it won’t be tolerated.”

A Stagecoach North Scotland spokeswoman said: “We are assisting police with their inquiries. We would encourage anyone with any information to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 0395 of April 16.”
