POLICE IN WARNING TO CYCLISTS TO LOCK UP THEIR BIKES
Nestrans adds new member to board
THE North-east’s travel partnership has appointed a new member to its board. Ian Ross, a chartered civil engineer, has joined the board of Nestrans, following a recruitment process which was carried out late last year.
Mr Ross will join the board at his first meeting tomorrow.
With 40 years of experience at Fairhurst Consulting Engineers, including more than 20 as a partner, Mr Ross has worked on many diverse transport projects. Paired with his comprehensive knowledge of local issues, it is hoped he will aid the delivery of the Regional Transport Strategy, which aims to boost the economy, quality of life and environment of the region. Councillor Peter Argyle, the chairman of Nestrans, said: “I am delighted to welcome Ian to the Nestrans Board. “He brings with him a wealth of experience, and importantly adds to our number of non-councillor members who help promote a range of perspectives around the table.
“I look forward to working with Ian during his time with us.”
