AN ABERDEEN woman today told of her delight of meeting one of her favourite pop stars after working on the latest episode of the X Factor.

Nail technician Suzy Middleton, from Bridge of Don, said she had a fantastic time travelling to London to help the contestants look their best for the live show. The mum of two works for Ispiro Estetica Hair and Beauty on Schoolhill and as an educator for Nail Harmony UK. In 2016 Suzy had travelled to the Fountain Studios in London to help stars such as Sharon Osbourne and Nicole Scherzinger look their best for the talent show. However, X Factor now takes place in the LH2 Studios in the capital, where Suzy met Take That star and Angels singer Robbie Williams. She said: “I had travelled down on the Friday and was working on the show on the Saturday. We were getting a chance to see all the live rehearsals and dress rehearsals and people were coming and going. “I got the chance to meet and speak with Robbie which was just amazing, he was so nice. I was a little starstruck, he was so busy but he stopped and chatted away to my colleague and I. “She was from Stoke-ontrent – the same as him – so they were chatting about that. We got a picture, I’m a big fan, going back to the Take That days. “He is away in concert, so we weren’t even sure if he was going to be there or not.” As well as meeting one of her favourite popstars, Suzy was also tasked with making sure contestants were happy with their nails for the live shows. She added: “The studio, LH2, where they film the shows, is actually a lot smaller than you expect. “The stage is huge and there are cameras everywhere covering every possible angle. The judges are in and out when their acts are rehearsing.” Suzy worked on a number of this year’s contestants, including Shan Ako, a number of members from the band Unite Vibe and Scarlett Lee. Scarlett had a traumatic week before the live show, when she needed hospital treatment after helping her brother’s family escape a fire in their mobile home on Monday. Suzy said: “All the contestants were really chatty and were speaking away to everyone helping do nails and asking about our lives. “Scarlett was really nice and was happy to let us choose her nails, but we wanted to check what she was wearing. “She’s young, trendy and quirky so we had to make sure we didn’t give her anything too old. She had fake acrylics put on.”
