Call to Red Army to back the Dons
PITTODRIE chiefs were rightly disappointed at the ticket uptake from fans for the Betfred Cup semi-final against Rangers.
Around 11,000 Dons fans made the trip to Hampden for the clash with Rangers which the Reds won 1-0 to set up a final date with Celtic in a few weeks’ time. Rob Wicks is right to point out there were mitigating factors for the semi-final turnout but the club is confident fans will turn up in numbers for the Hampden showpiece.
This time there has been no palaver over the kick-off time and venue, and the response from the Red Army in snapping up more than 13,000 tickets in the first few hours is fantastic.
Derek Mcinnes and his players will be hoping as many Aberdeen fans as possible turn up on Sunday December 2, and there is no doubt with Celtic returning to form their support will be needed.
Who knows, if you don’t go and get behind the team, you might miss out on history being made.
