Job group closes after cash cuts
A SUPPORT group for jobseekers in a North-east town is closing its doors after cuts in funding.
Elgin-based Moray New Futures helped vulnerable people find work.
But funding for the group has been hit hard by public spending cuts and it has been forced to temporarily close. The organisation is now being forced to look for other funding – or to shut down for good.
Anne Edwards, a support worker for the project, said: “It’s such a wrench to tell clients you can no longer support them – they just look at you not knowing what they face.”
