Evening Express (Extra Edition) - - SPORT -

JOE Shaughnessy saw his UEFA Under-19 Championship hopes ended by Spain. The young Aberdeen defender, pictured, was part of an Ireland side comfortably beaten 5-0 in the semi-finals in Romania. Shaughnessy played the entire match as favourites Spain won through to a showdown with the Czech Republic on Monday. Gerard Deulofeu and Pablo Sarabia were both on target before the break to put their team well in control. In the second half, Juanmi scored Spain’s third goal and Alvaro Morata hit a late double to complete a convincing win. The Czech Republic beat Serbia 4-2 in the other semi-final.
