Mapping out Moray’s future
TWO new reports that could set out the future of a North-east community which faced ruin with the loss of its defence base, have been released.
RAF Lossiemouth was saved from the axe last month by Defence Secretary Liam Fox.
But business leaders want plans to make Moray less reliant on the defence industry.
The Moray Economic Strategy and Elgin – City for the Future reports were commissioned by the Moray Community Planning Partnership to help underpin Moray’s economic development.
Moray Council convener George McIntyre said: “As the RAF Lossiemouth result shows, the Moray community can achieve much when it pulls together.” Meetings to be held next month will gauge people’s views.
