Ferrari to rev up cash for charity
AN ABERDEEN bar is to welcome an unusual visitor this month – a tartan Ferrari 599.
The car was driven across 10 countries by businessman Garreth Wood in aid of charity.
Life-long friends Garreth and co-driver Matthew Hays took part in the world famous Gumball 3000 rally in May, covering 3,000 miles from London to Istanbul in just eight days.
The customised car, which has a chrome and tartan finish, will be parked inside Garreth’s Paramount bar on Bon Accord Street on August 27.
The bar is hosting a Gumballthemed fun day from 3pm to 1am to raise more money for the pair’s chosen charity, the British Heart Foundation. All takings from Paramount on the day will be added to the pot.
The organisation was chosen as the beneficiary after Matthew’s father was hospitalised with coronary heart disease last year.
The Scots on the Gumball team won a special award for impressing spectators with their kilts.
