Golf bid chips in at casino

PLANS turn an Aberdeen casino into a golf shop, bar and of­fices have hit the jack­pot. City coun­cil­lors unan­i­mously sup­ported the bid by Gamola Golf to con­vert the for­mer In­ter­na­tional Casino in Mar­ket Street. The casino closed down last sum­mer af­ter hav­ing its al­co­hol li­cence sus­pended for six months by city li­cens­ing chiefs. The C-listed build­ing was bought by on­line store Gamola Golf for more than £1 mil­lion in May. Work could start in Oc­to­ber, with com­ple­tion pen­cilled in for around March next year. Coun­cil­lor Bill Cormie said: “It will help the re­gen­er­a­tion of the area.”
