Eight die in Afghan bombing
EIGHT people have died after two suicide bombers attacked a British Council building in Afghanistan’s capital, officials said.
Two Afghan policemen and a municipal worker were among those killed in the incident on the west side of Kabul, police in Afghanistan said.
A Foreign Office spokeswoman said: “We can confirm there was an attack against a British Council compound in Afghanistan.” She did not have details of the casualties.
The explosions took place in the early hours of Afghan Independence Day, which marks Afghanistan’s full independence from Britain in 1919. It was not clear whether the attack was connected.
