Hold International Market at Castlegate

Evening Express (Extra Edition) - - TV CHOICE -

I COULDN’T agree more with the letter regarding the International Market being held in Union Terrace (EE, August 16)

All through traffic, not just buses, is brought to a near standstill over the council’s refusal to move this market to its rightful place – namely the Castlegate.

I believe the Castlegate is a sorely neglected area in need of regeneration.

Th e attempt at a market on Fridays and Saturdays, in my opinion, does nothing for the area.

Aberdeen City Council must free itself from the tunnel vision it suffers regarding the emphasis on the central areas around shopping malls, and see the bigger picture as to the city’s other assets.
