IT’S GREAT news that Aberdeen City Council has agreed to draw £3,500 from the Common Good Fund to go towards a parade for the 4th Battalion Royal Regiment of Scotland (Highlanders). Hopefully they will get a warm reception from the people of Aberdeen. This is exactly the sort of thing the Common Good Fund should be used for.

– W Brannigan IT WAS heartwarming to see that £10,000 has been raised by the people of Aberdeen to help children at a school in Uganda (EE, August 18). It seems even in times when people have to count the pennies, they are I AGREE with Frank Gilfeather, when he said in his column (EE, August 18) that it’s a shame Aberdeen couldn’t have been used for the filming of Brad Pitt’s new movie rather than Glasgow. Our city could surely be used for filming like this. It’d be a real boost for the city and a possible money-spinner for the council.
