Bey and Jay-Z haggle in The Hamptons
JUST months after splashing out £65 million on a mansion in Bel-Air in LA, Beyoncé and Jay-Z have bought a £19.2 million home in The Hamptons.
Their new retreat, above, on a twoacre site, includes a 12,000sq ft main house and a 1,800sq ft guest cottage.
The pop power couple, above right, worth more than £740 million between them, secured a lot of bang for their buck. There are seven bedrooms and the seven bathrooms feature sculpted marble from Verona in Italy. With more than 200ft of pond frontage and bordering a 17acre nature reserve, the spread was first listed for sale at £29.2 million in 2009, slashed to £25.8 million the following year and then £22.1 million in 2012. With no takers, summer 2013 saw the price drop to £21.4 million. By spring last year it was up for sale again and Queen Bey and Jay-Z, who have three children, got a price they felt was fair. They plan to move their stuff in as soon as possible.
