Keep the Oscar glory going, Gary

Evening Standard - West End Final Extra - ES Homes and Property - - News -

WHEN scooping the best actor Oscar for his portrayal of Winston Churchill in Darkest Hour, below, south London-born Gary Oldman thanked America for its “wonderful gifts” to him and also paid homage to his roots. Now the perfect UK base for the actor has come up for sale.

Winnie was a frequent visitor during the Second World War at Boss Lane House, above, as the sprawling Buckinghamshire estate near High Wycombe was used as a Cabinet war office. Music hall star Lillie Langtry, Edward VII’s mistress when he was Prince of Wales, is said to have lived there in the late 19th century.

The four-bedroom house retains oak flooring, wood-panelled walls and inglenook fireplaces and is surrounded by beech woodlands, with all the privacy a Hollywood star demands. It is listed with Bonnam for £1.75 million.
