Be yourself and you’ll always be in vogue, says Attitude’s Man of the Year Edward
LUTHER star Idris Elba presented Vogue editor Edward Enninful with the Man of the Year prize at the Virgin Holidays Attitude Awards last night, held at the Roundhouse in Camden.
Enninful, the first male editor of British Vogue, has previously discussed his desire to be a positive role model for young black and gay men. “It’s very important to me,” he said. “I’ve never shied away from being black or gay… I want young kids to know it’s OK to be who you are.”
“Vogue will always shine a spotlight on those who don’t shine,” Enninful said as he accepted the gong. “My Man of the Year Award goes to everyone in this room tonight.”
Other guests at the annual event, which was supported by Jaguar, included Olympic boxer Nicola Adams, comedian Julian Clary, actor Whoopi Goldberg and singer Pixie Lott.
