Be your­self and you’ll al­ways be in vogue, says At­ti­tude’s Man of the Year Ed­ward

LUTHER star Idris Elba pre­sented Vogue ed­i­tor Ed­ward En­nin­ful with the Man of the Year prize at the Vir­gin Hol­i­days At­ti­tude Awards last night, held at the Round­house in Cam­den.

En­nin­ful, the first male ed­i­tor of Bri­tish Vogue, has pre­vi­ously dis­cussed his de­sire to be a pos­i­tive role model for young black and gay men. “It’s very im­por­tant to me,” he said. “I’ve never shied away from be­ing black or gay… I want young kids to know it’s OK to be who you are.”

“Vogue will al­ways shine a spot­light on those who don’t shine,” En­nin­ful said as he ac­cepted the gong. “My Man of the Year Award goes to ev­ery­one in this room tonight.”

Other guests at the an­nual event, which was sup­ported by Jaguar, in­cluded Olympic boxer Ni­cola Adams, co­me­dian Ju­lian Clary, ac­tor Whoopi Gold­berg and singer Pixie Lott.
