Grad­u­ates to com­pete for prizes

GRAD­U­ATE artists and ar­chi­tects from Dundee Uni­ver­sity will com­pete for prizes with a to­tal value of more than £40,000 when an ex­hi­bi­tion of Scot­land’s emerg­ing cre­ative tal­ents opens later this week.

The ninth an­nual New Con­tem­po­raries ex­hi­bi­tion will take place at the Royal Scot­tish Acad­emy Gal­leries in Ed­in­burgh from Satur­day. The ex­hi­bi­tion is re­garded as a lead­ing show­case for the coun­try’s young artists.

Thir­teen artists and three ar­chi­tects from Dundee will be ex­hibit­ing.

The artists who stud­ied at the uni­ver­sity’s Dun­can of Jor­dan­stone Col­lege of Art and De­sign are Claire Con­nor, Lily Has­si­oti, Kieran Milne, Daphne Percy-Cho­rafa, Lena Phalén, Anna Wal­lace Reid, Ta­mara Richard­son, Emily Ste­wart, Jas­mine Sum­mer­ton, Kris­tian Thomassen, Blake Venus, Jamie Watt and Ali­son Wright.

Ex­hibit­ing ar­chi­tects Fer­gus Low, Rob­bie Miller and El­speth Tay­lor are grad­u­ates of the uni­ver­sity’s School of So­cial Sciences.
