Graduates to compete for prizes
GRADUATE artists and architects from Dundee University will compete for prizes with a total value of more than £40,000 when an exhibition of Scotland’s emerging creative talents opens later this week.
The ninth annual New Contemporaries exhibition will take place at the Royal Scottish Academy Galleries in Edinburgh from Saturday. The exhibition is regarded as a leading showcase for the country’s young artists.
Thirteen artists and three architects from Dundee will be exhibiting.
The artists who studied at the university’s Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design are Claire Connor, Lily Hassioti, Kieran Milne, Daphne Percy-Chorafa, Lena Phalén, Anna Wallace Reid, Tamara Richardson, Emily Stewart, Jasmine Summerton, Kristian Thomassen, Blake Venus, Jamie Watt and Alison Wright.
Exhibiting architects Fergus Low, Robbie Miller and Elspeth Taylor are graduates of the university’s School of Social Sciences.
