MP gets behind rail link bid

-

A CAMPAIGN to reinstate St Andrews’ rail link has been further fuelled by support from the local MP.

Stephen Gethins also praised the years of work by the St Andrews Rail Link (StARLink) group, which has resulted in the scheme’s development being placed in the running for Tay Cities Deal cash.

The North-East Fife SNP MP said: “St Andrews is hugely important to the economy of Fife and Scotland and local people and visitors alike should have access to the best possible transport links available.

“The case for the reinstatement of the rail link to St Andrews is compelling and I welcome the news that it has been included in the Tay Cities Deal supported by the Scottish Government.

“I also commend the hard work of those involved in the StARLink campaign and support their aim of making St Andrews and t he surrounding area, including the East Neuk, a better place to live, work and visit.”
