Raising city breaks stakes

Evening Telegraph (First Edition) - - Uk World Today -

THINK city break and places such as Berlin, Prague and Paris probably spring to mind (see page 10).

But new holiday homes planned for the heart of Dundee could be just the sort of accommodation people from other parts of the UK and Europe are looking for when they decide they want to get away from it all for two or three days.

Proposals have been tabled to transform an office block into apartments as part of the ongoing drive to lure people to the city.

The finished building would offer a rooftop terrace with panoramic views over Slessor Gardens to the River Tay.

And it would be within easy walking distance of the new V&A, Discovery Point, a clutch of other attractions and the city centre’s many bars and restaurants.

It seems to have all the ingredients to give the more obvious short break destinations a proper run for their money.
