In­vest­ment work­shop to help char­i­ties

DUNDEE will host a spe­cial in­vest­ment work­shop this week.

So­cial In­vest­ment Scot­land is hop­ing to help the city’s so­cial en­ter­prises and char­i­ties through their in­vest­ment readi­ness work­shop.

The event takes place at Lind­says, Seabraes House, Grass­mar­ket, on Thurs­day be­fore visit­ing three other Scot­tish lo­ca­tions.

It of­fers a look at how so­cial in­vest­ment can en­able or­gan­i­sa­tions to achieve growth, sus­tain­abil­ity and im­pact.

The events are open to char­i­ties, so­cial en­ter­prises, com­mu­nity en­ter­prises and pro­fes­sional ser­vices such as solic­i­tors who want to learn more about so­cial in­vest­ment.

Com­mu­nity Shares Scot­land will also be de­liv­er­ing a ses­sion on how com­mu­nity shares could be the best way to raise funds for a com­mu­nity ven­ture.

Alas­tair Davis, CEO of So­cial In­vest­ment Scot­land, said: “There are a large pro­por­tion of char­i­ties, so­cial en­ter­prises and com­mu­nity en­ter­prises that are still un­aware of the ben­e­fits of tak­ing on in­vest­ment to help them achieve their goals.

“These work­shops have been de­signed to sim­plify the world of in­vest­ment, help­ing at­ten­dees to learn about what is avail­able out there and to de­cide which route is right for their or­gan­i­sa­tion.”
