Dis­rup­tion to traf­fic warn­ing

RES­I­DENTS have been warned to ex­pect some traf­fic dis­rup­tion when Perth Christ­mas lights are switched on.

The event on Satur­day will re­sult in Tay Street be­ing closed from 6pm on Fri­day un­til mid­night on Sun­day.

The pa­rade will set off from the top of the Old High Street be­side St Paul’s Church at 5.30pm and will move along New Row.

It will then head i nto County Place and con­tinue on to South Street where it will head to­wards to the River Tay.

A spokesman for Perth and Kin­ross Coun­cil said: “There will be a rolling road clo­sure in place and this should be com­pleted by 6pm at the lat­est. This will cause some de­lays to jour­neys in the city at this time.”

The park and ride will op­er­ate an ex­tended timetable on Satur­day, with jour­neys op­er­at­ing every 15 min­utes un­til the last de­par­ture from Mill Street at 9pm.
