Evening Telegraph (First Edition) - - Uk World Today -

THERE was a fabulous run from Dundee Hawkhill Harrier James Donald in the U/20 fourkilometre event at the National Short Course Cross-Country in Kirkcaldy.

James finished fourth, just a few seconds from winning a bronze medal.

There were other encouraging results for the Hawks.

At U/17 level, Kristof Hornyik had a cracking run in his first year in this age group.

Kristof finished the three-kilometre course 12th out of 82 runners in a time of nine minutes 36 seconds.

The U/17 boys team was seventh overall.

Ryan Donald finished 27th in nine minutes 50 seconds and Kieran McColgan was 41st in 10 minutes six seconds.

All three boys are in their first year at U/17 level.

In the U/15 boys, Laurence Petty, also in his first year at that age group, ran well to finish the two-kilometre course 18th in six minutes 46 seconds.

The boys U/15 team finished fourth overall, just being out of the team medals.

Again, it was top three to count with the boys finishing extremely close together.

Following Laurence came Ethan McColgan, six minutes 49 seconds, in 26th and Blair Scott, six minutes 52 seconds, in 33rd.
