Expo-sing the wonders of Dundee and Angus
ONE of Scotland’s most eagerly awaited cultural attractions, a top historic attraction and a group set to raise the profile of the East of Scotland are among the tourism businesses in Dundee and Angus to be promoted to the world at this year’s VisitScotland Expo next week.
V&A Dundee, Glamis Castle, Dundee Science Centre, the Angus Tourism Cooperative and Scotland’s Tay Country are some of the businesses and organisations from the region to showcase their products and services at the 39th staging of Scotland’s biggest business-to-business event for the travel trade.
VisitScotland Expo 2018 will take place at the Scottish Event Campus in Glasgow on April 11 and 12.
This year, more than 300 Scottish tourism businesses — including accommodation providers, visitor attractions and activity providers — from every corner of the country will have the opportunity to showcase their products and services to 600 tour operators and travel agents, including more than 450 from overseas.
This is the highest number of exhibitors since 1998, with 76 of the exhibitors taking part in the event for the first time.
Some delegates attending the Expo – including a group of eight German buyers and several groups of international buyers — will also participate in familiarisation trips to the region.
These outings will give them a real-life first-hand experience of the types of holidays they will be able to provide to customers.
